Following the advice of our Peer support Network, I'm dedicating a page for listing all the little things I'm grateful for in Ethiopia. As this list grows longer and longer, it will serve as both a reminder and a window for the outside world showing all the wonderful perks of serving in this country.
8/7/13- The suk owner by my office that always has 50 birr mobile cards.
8/8/13- There being countless places in my town where I can sit and have tea or coffee.
8/9/13- When my English students fully participate during class.
8/11/13- How tasty food is when cooked in a shocla (traditional clay pot).
8/20/13- The vendor who sold me an awesome bofe (traditional dress) for super cheap because I'm, as he put it, "good promotion."
8/21/13- The hairdresser who charged me only 15 birr to braid my hair for Ashenda.
8/25/13- The little girl that told off the grown man that verbally harasses me every morning.
9/3/13- The bus boys from Wukiro to Adwa looking out for me and calling me by my name.
9/6/13- The old man at the top of the mountain who offered us k'olo for the journey back down.
9/12/13- My youngest habesha sister whose silliness makes me burst out laughing.
9/24/13- My compound family making coffee three times a day and always offering it to me.
10/25/13- The kids in my town that practice their English with me on the street.
11/26/13- My three little sisters. They are the light of my life.
12/14/13- The bus boy who didn't charge me for my enormous bag.
